Community Collaborations

Part of Hope City’s mission statement is to share the goodness of God.

We collaborate with many local community & church organizations to better further the message of the Gospel and to serve our city with no agenda other than to love like God would.

Community Events

These are just some examples of the local events in Jacobsville that Hope City has hosted or taken part in.

Jacobsville Grill-Out Day

Jacobsville Grill-Out Day was an event put on by J.A.C.C. Five locations within Jacobsville participated, Hope City being one of them. We grilled food for neighbors, gave prizes away, hosted the City Redevelopment Team for the 10-year plan for Jacobsville that allowed our very own neighbors got to vote on which proposals they liked and didn’t like. This event brought Jacobsville closer together.

J.A.C.C. - Easter Egg Hunt

This was an event at which Hope City had 22 volunteers partner with J.A.C.C. to create a fun, safe environment for the residents and children of Jacobsville to participate in an Easter egg Hunt in Garvin Park. There was a record number of kids that participated, totaling in over 100 kids! Our very own volunteer helped by playing the Easter Bunny and taking pictures with children.

Restore Thanksgiving

This was an event collaboration between Hope City and Restore Ministries. The purpose of this event was to serve the Restore family. Restore ministries helps anyone with hurts, habits or hangups, so what better than to serve those who are seeking help! We served over 400 people a Thanksgiving meal and gave away over 300 Thanksgiving food boxes.

J.A.C.C. - Santa's Workshop

Santa’s Workshop is an event hosted by J.A.C.C. and held in the Hope City Activity Center. Hope City has participated in this event twice. In 2023, there were about 200 kids. In 2024, over 1,000 people came through the Activity Center! There was a line wrapped around Hope City of people wanting to get cookies and hot cocoa, play games, make crafts, and get their picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus! This event leads right into the North Main Parade and definitely draws a crowd!

Jacobsville Redevelopment Area Designs Workshop

Hope City had the honor of hosting the Jacobsville Redevelopment Area Designs Workshop. The city of Evansville was working together to redevelop the Jacobsville area. This workshop allowed residents to come and vote on what proposals they liked and didn’t like here at Hope City.

Evansville Half Marathon

Hope City is fortunate enough to be located at the last mile stretch of the Evansville Half Marathon. Every year, a group of Hope City members stand outside the church on North Main St. and cheer on the runners in their last lap. We play music, hold up signs and bring a positive energy to encourage the runners to finish strong.

Hope City - Hope for Back to School

Hope for Back to School is a Hope City outreach dedicated to helping students start their school year off on the right foot. We partnered with Delaware School to give away backpacks, notebooks, pencils and more. We partnered with The Parlor Barbershop as well so they can give students free back-to-school haircuts! We fellowship with the families and provide a free meal.

Hope City - Hope for Easter

Hope for Easter was an event put on by Hope City Church to extend a loving hand to the residents of Jacobsville around Easter! In our parking lot, we had warm meals that families could eat at tables, games like cornhole and bucket toss, face painting, balloon animals, crafts, and more! We gave out free bags of goodies for the holiday. This was a great outreach that truly reached many people and communicated to the neighborhood that Hope City is here for them.

Parks & Recreation - Day at the Park

Day at the Park was an outreach effort done by the Parks and Recreations Department of Evansville to bring some joy and fun to our local parks. Every month, a group from Hope City would meet at different local parks to play board games with children, face paint, play outdoor games like football and more.

Hope City Pop-Up Grill

Pop-Up Grill is Hope City’s weekly feeding program. Every Friday at Noon, Hope City feeds 150-200 people in the summer right on our campus. In the winter months, we move into our Activity Center and feed 50-70 people hot soups and more. You can learn more about Pop-Up Grill here.

Community One - Love Your Neighbor Day

Love Your Neighbor Day is an initiative by Community One and hosted by Dream Center. This event happens twice every year, one time in the spring and one time in the fall. These events will range from trash pick up, yard work, and more neighborhood maintenance. Hope City has had many volunteers give their time, resources, and efforts to help alongside Community One. Over 27 tons of trash was collected in Hope City’s dumpster at the Fall 2024 Love Your Neighbor Day.

Mayor Stephanie Terry - 812 Day

812 Day is a block-by-block cleaning initiative started by Mayor Stephanie Terry’s staff. Hope City hosted the event and was where city departments, organizations, and businesses gathered to learn what streets they were assigned to clean. The effort consisted of heavy trash pick up, mowing yards, cleaning gutters, painting over graffiti, installing security cameras and more.

J.A.C.C. - North Main Christmas Parade

The North Main Christmas Parade has been a highlight of the year for Jacobsville. The parade went on a hiatus for 5 years and was dearly missed. In 2024, the parade was back with more floats, volunteers, and a huge neighborhood turnout! Hope City collaborated with JACC, JNIA, the city of Evansville, and all the organizations that participated to bring Christmas cheer back to Jacobsville. Hope City Kids had one float out of the 127 floats that participated. There were about 10,000 people in attendance.

Pop-UP Grill

Light Up Jacobsville

This event was a collaboration between Hope City, Jacobsville Neighborhood Association, J.A.C.C., and GaylaCake. It was a glow party for any child who wanted to have fun in Jacobsville Park. The event brought attention to some street lights near the park that needed to be fixed but had been neglected for months. Due to this outreach and “shedding some light” on the issue, the city fixed the street lights!

How is Hope City Partnering to Improve Education?

Hope City has created a team that goes into Delaware Elementary School and helps alongside the principal and teachers to fulfill the needs they may have. We fill the teacher’s lounge monthly with snacks to encourage our teachers and let them know we are here to help. We have purchased toys for the school to use as incentives to encourage student attendance and good behavior. We ask the principal what she needs monthly to accomplish what she sets out to do better, and we serve in any capacity.

Hope City is for our city, our community, and for you.
