Hope City in the Community: Together, We Make a Difference
At Hope City Church, we’re not just in Jacobsville; we’re a part of it. Our mission? To collaborate, not duplicate. We believe in joining hands with existing services and businesses to amplify our impact, listening intently to the needs of Jacobsville’s residents, families, and businesses.
Transitional Housing: Building Hope from the Ground Up
We dream of a Jacobsville where every family thrives in a healthy home. Embracing this vision, we’ve partnered with H.O.U.S.E (Housing Organization United Serving Evansville) for monthly meetings. These gatherings are a melting pot of ideas and experiences, fueling our journey toward launching “H.O.P.E Housing” (Helping Overcome Poverty in Evansville). Picture this: stable homes pulsing with community support and resources, a launchpad for those striving for a better life. We’re assembling a passionate team, ready to tackle the housing crisis head-on.
Early Education: Planting Seeds of Hope in our Community
Did you know early education can transform a community? That’s why we have big dreams of diving deep into this realm. We’ve collaborated with the Dream Center and Building Blocks, and birthed the H.E.L.P (Hope Early Learning Program), inaugurated at Hope City in October 2023. Our approach? Comprehensive care for each family, complete with a dedicated social worker. We have many other aspirations and goals God has given us regarding early education so partner with us in prayer that they will soon be accomplished!
Neighborhood Transformation: More Than Just Words
Hope City believes in being the hands and feet in our neighborhood. From parks to sidewalks, food access to schools, we’re there. Transforming a neighborhood isn’t about pushing agendas; it’s about serving based on the community’s heartbeat. We’re here, listening and responding to the needs of Jacobsville, driven by a desire to spread God’s love. We serve the community free lunch every Friday at Noon from our feeding program, “Pop-Up Grill” to help and nourish those in need, while also staying close to the pulse of the neighborhood.
Resource Connection: Bridging Gaps, Building Futures
In a community grappling with poverty and homelessness, Hope City stands as a bridge to resources and support. We’re active in community events like “Grill Out Day,” Trunk-or-Treat, and Easter egg hunts with J.A.C.C. (Jacobsville Area Community Corporations) and we support initiatives by J.N.I.A, (Jacobsville Neighborhood Improvement Association), Community One, Hands of Hope, and the Welborn Baptist Foundation. It’s about being present, being a part of the solution. Although we may not provide every need directly from the church, we will always try our hardest to help connect someone to the proper resources.
