Mission

Our mission at Hope City Church is to share the goodness of God to bring hope and transformation in Christ.

Vision

We want you to know God, find freedom, discover your purpose, and make a difference so you can help others to do the same.

Our Beliefs

Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary, “beliefs”

  1. : a state or habit of mind in which trust or confidence is placed in some person or thing
  2. : something that is accepted, considered to be true, or held as an opinion : something believed

We believe these beliefs are the foundation of the Christian life and these beliefs are founded on the Word of God.

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God and, in its entirety to be the inspired rule of faith and conduct.

The Trinity

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  These three are coequal and coeternal.

 Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the only Son of God who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He was crucified, died, buried, rose from the dead three days later, ascended to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God.

Redemption

There is forgiveness of sin and personal salvation through Jesus Christ.

Salvation

Anyone who believes on Jesus and confesses Him as their personal savior will receive salvation.

Sacraments

  • Water Baptism: Water baptism by immersion is an important act of obedience symbolizing our identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.
  • The Lord’s Supper: A unique time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice (a representation of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ) are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.
  • Marriage: We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Baptism by the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues is for the believers of yesterday and today.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Present day practice of the Gifts of the Spirit and Fruits of the Spirit as recorded in 1 Corinthians 12 and 14 and Galatians 5 are available to all believers.

Healing of the Sick

Divine healing through faith for the whole person (spirit, soul, body) is included in salvation. This includes laying hands on the sick as commissioned in Mark 16.

God’s Will for Provision

It is the Father’s will for believers to become whole, healthy, and successful in all areas of life.  But because of the fall of man, many may not receive the full benefits of God’s will while on Earth.  That fact, though, should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefits of Christ’s provision in order to better serve others.  Provision includes spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, and financial health.

The Church

Believers have the privilege and have been empowered to share the gospel of the redemptive plan of God to the whole world according to Mark 16.

The Second Coming

Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.

Miracles, Signs, and Wonders

God performs miracles, healings, signs and wonders today through believers just as he did through Jesus.
