All In

We are continuing our series All In! It is an excellent time to be at Hope City! God has been calling us to walk closer, and we have responded. We are a hungry church, and we want more of God!

Sometimes, it can be hard to believe that God wants us to be close to Him. We see our sins, our wrong actions and thoughts, and we think God must see them too. But we are focused on the wrong part of us; remember that we are a three-part being: spirit, soul, and body.

While humanity is so focused on our soul and body, God is focused on our spirit. He knows that our spirit will take the lead once we have revelation on the truth of our redemption.

God knows that our spirit and His Spirit are joined in a seamless unity!

Going All In for the One Who is All In!

“But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.”
– 1 CORINTHIANS 6:17 (NKJV)

God’s Spirit is influencing and changing us from the inside out. We begin to have different desires and are convicted of things we have never been convicted of before. We are getting closer to God!

The good news of this transformation is that God doesn’t just want a part of us or just some of us: He wants ALL of us. He wants us to choose to be ALL IN with Him!

God has shown us that He is ALL IN with us through Jesus. The sacrifice on behalf of us was so great, yet we seem to forget it so often. But God is rich in mercy, and He sees past the natural mess-ups; He sees our redeemed spirit that is made in righteousness!

“For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness].” – 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 (AMP)

“Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous” – ROMANS 5:19 (NLT)

By Jesus being ALL IN for us, He mas made it possible for us to be righteous in the eyes of God!

What does “All In” mean? Does it mean we never sin or even have a wrong thought? No. It means that we are hungry for more of God and that we stay hungry.

Being “All In” means we do not allow our passion for Him to dwindle; we keep the fire of our spiritual desire to burn hot for Him! It also means that we don’t let a wrong turn derail our lives. Imagine: You are still righteous, and He still wants you closer to Him.

Hope City, let’s continue to push past our past, hang-ups, and wrong desires and to push into who God calls us to be! We are to be light in the darkness and to draw people out of the darkness into His marvelous light!

“You are the light of the world — like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” – MATTHEW 5:14-16 (NLT)
